Sobre o Selo
Essa emissão traz o quarto signo do zodíaco, Câncer, e a arte do selo apresenta elementos que simbolizam esse signo. No canto inferior esquerdo, aparece seu ícone, imagem que tem origem na forma das patas de um caranguejo. Acima, duas faixas na cor cinza delimitam o espaço onde está inserido o nome do signo, tendo a seguir o intervalo de tempo governado pelo signo de Câncer. Depois, uma faixa de cor azul representa o elemento “água”, um dos regentes da natureza que caracterizam a personalidade dos nascidos nesse signo. Ao centro, a imagem de um caranguejo, que representa a Constelação de Câncer (que é o nome em latim para Caranguejo). Acima, à direita, o esquema formado pelas principais estrelas que recebem o genitivo “Cancri” em seus nomes. Foi utilizada a técnica de computação gráfica.
Astrologia
“Não me pergunte o que o céu pode fazer por você, mas de que maneira você há de se orientar para engrandecer o Universo com sua presença”, é com essa frase que, ao longo do tempo, encontrei a maneira de indicar às pessoas que a Astrologia não é o estudo de como o céu influencia os seres humanos, mas o conhecimento que nos ajuda a entender o lugar que ocupamos no colossal organismo inteligente que chamamos de Universo. Por meio dessa afirmação deixamos de lado o vício comum de nos eximirmos de nossas responsabilidades, pois, se não o fizéssemos, transferiríamos às virtudes e vícios dos signos do Zodíaco uma nova justificativa para afirmar que não teríamos opção sobre sermos como somos ou agirmos como agimos. Nossos signos são a indicação de qual seria nossa serventia no Universo, o que responde a esse pressentimento nosso de que deve haver um lugar para nós no Universo, chamando a isso poeticamente de “missão”. Não se engane ninguém, porém, de que talvez seria suficiente nascer para cumprir essa “missão”. Não é! É preciso ir ao encontro dela, mesmo que orientados apenas por ideias vagas e imprecisas, mas que o estudo da Astrologia pode esclarecer e ajudar a utilizar. É nessa linha de compreensão que os signos do Zodíaco se apresentarão a nós como verdadeiros portais cósmicos através dos quais se distribuem as potências cosmogônicas que concorrem para a criação, preservação e reintegração da realidade. E, assim também, as pessoas que nascem em cada um dos signos podem encontrar neste parâmetro a identidade e a orientação sobre o lugar que ocupam no Universo. Com certeza, fazendo bom uso da Astrologia, chegaremos, um dia, a pensar em nós mesmos integrados ao Universo, muito diferente do que é agora, em que essa palavra Universo parece se referir sempre a eventos muito distantes e inatingíveis. Nós somos parte integrante do Universo e a Astrologia é o caminho que conduz a entender o que isso significa e a orientar sobre o melhor uso possível dessa condição.
Câncer
Este é o signo onde acontecem os fins e, também, os novos inícios, onde os ciclos de vida se entrelaçam para determinar a continuidade. Enquanto nossa humanidade vive apreensiva pela expectativa de que tudo o que conquista terminará um dia, neste signo encontramos a prova cósmica de que, ao passo que nossa humanidade enxerga tudo acontecendo através de inícios, meios e fins, o Universo, por sua vez, trabalha com a continuidade. A eternidade é o verdadeiro destino de nossa humanidade, mas nós ainda não temos essa visão, nos apegamos ao pequeno, ao que nos faz sentir protegidos da imensidão do Universo, que enxergamos como perigosa. Por esse impulso de proteger nosso território e todas as referências o simbolizam, é que este signo é classicamente associado à família, à casa e a todas as delícias do dia a dia que representam nosso território. Câncer é o signo depositário de todas as tradições, para que sejam preservadas ao longo das gerações, porém, é sabido que essas não podem simplesmente ser repetidas, porque coisas que foram boas aos nossos ancestrais, não necessariamente continuariam produzindo o mesmo efeito. Por isso, é neste signo que nossa humanidade é confrontada com a perspectiva de ter de agir de forma aparentemente errada do ponto de vista das tradições, mas ao mesmo tempo ser essa a atitude certa em nome da evolução. Tradições não existiram sempre, alguém as começou em algum momento e alguém, também, em outro momento, as terá de destruir para dar lugar ao que de novo precisa ser colocado em marcha. Esses, porém, são momentos cruciais da história humana, porque na maior parte do tempo tudo precisa ser conservado e protegido, e é por isso mesmo que o signo de Câncer é mais associado ao apego ao “status quo” do que ao momento revolucionário de ruptura com o passado. Todas estas explicações, evidentemente, não são vividas de forma racional e lógica pelas pessoas que nascem neste signo, mas de forma emocional, por torrentes de energia feitas sensações que parecem as carregar num destino que elas mesmas não sabem como controlar, mas que se esforçam nesse sentido. É por isso mesmo que as pessoas cancerianas parecem ser tão controladoras, mas que quando alguém as questiona sobre esse controle, elas mesmas não sabem explicar o porquê de suas atitudes. É como se uma força instintiva maior do que elas mesmas as levasse a proteger suas famílias e grupos de inimigos e adversidades que nunca ficam muito claros ou evidentes. As pessoas de Câncer, sem o saber, se tornam espelho do momento histórico em que existem e, não raramente, assumem funções de trabalho que acabam servindo ao propósito de defenderem tradições.

About the Stamp
This issue brings the fourth sign of the zodiac, Cancer, and the art of the stamp shows elements that symbolize that sign. On the lower left corner appears its icon, image that originates from the shape of a crab’s pincers. Above, two grey bands delimit the area where the name of the zodiac sign is inserted, having the period of time governed by the zodiac sign of Cancer. Then a stripe of blue color represents the element “water,” one of the regents of nature that characterizes a personality of the born in that zodiac sign. At the center, the image of a Crab., that represents the Constellation of Cancer (which is named after its Latin form for “Crab”). Up, to the right, the arrangement of the main stars that are named with prefix “Cancri”. Computer graphics technique was used.
Astrology
“Do not ask me what heaven can do for you, but in what way you will orient yourself to magnify the Universe with your presence,” it is with this phrase that, over time, I have found a way to tell people that Astrology is not the study of how heaven influences humans, but the knowledge that helps us understand the place we occupy in the colossal intelligent organism we call the Universe. Through this affirmation we have left aside the common vice of exempting ourselves from our responsibilities, for if we did not, we would transfer to the virtues and vices of the signs of the Zodiac a new justification to affirm that we would have no choice about being as we are or acting as we act. Our zodiac signs are an indication of our usefulness in the Universe, which responds to this presentiment of ours that there must be a place for us in the Universe, calling it poetically “mission.” Make no mistake, however, that perhaps it would be enough to be born to fulfill this “mission.” It is not! It is necessary to go meet it, even if guided only by vague and imprecise ideas, but which the study of Astrology can clarify and help to use. It is in this line of understanding that the signs of the Zodiac will present themselves as true cosmic portals through which the cosmogonic powers that contribute to the creation, preservation and reintegration of reality are distributed. And so, too, the people who are born in each of the zodiac signs can find in this parameter the identity and orientation about the place they occupy in the Universe. Certainly, making good use of Astrology, we will one day think of ourselves integrated into the Universe, very different from what it is now, in which this word Universe always seems to refer to very distant and unattainable events. We are an integral part of the Universe and Astrology is the path that leads to understanding what this means and to guiding us about the best possible use of this condition.
Cancer
This is the zodiac sign where the endings and also the new beginnings happen, where the cycles of life intertwine to determine an inheritance. Whilst the human kind lives concerned about the expectation of all that have been conquered will come to an end, this sign is the cosmic proof that human kind sees everything as beginning, middle and end, the Universe, in turn, works with a continuity. Eternity is the true destiny of our human kind, but, so far, we do not have this understanding, we cling to the small things, to the idea that we are protected by the immensity of the Universe, immensity which we see as dangerous. By this instinct of protecting the territory and all references related to it, this the zodiac sign is usually associated with the family, the household and all day-by-day delights. Cancer is the zodiac sign custodian of all traditions, for these be preserved throughout the generations, but it is known that these cannot simply be repeated, for those that were good to our ancestors were not permanent having the same effect. Therefore, it is in this zodiac sign that our human kind is faced with perspective of having to act in an apparently wrong way by the traditions point of view, but at the same time it is a right attitude to be taken in the name of evolution. Traditions have not always existed, someone has started them some time and someone else, also, at another time, will be in charge to replace them in order to bring forth the news things. But these are crucial moments in human history, because most of the time everything is preserved and protected, and this is why the sign of Cancer is more associated with the clinging to the status quo than with the revolutionary moment of rupture with the past. All explanations, of course, are not experienced in a rational and direct way by people born in this zodiac sign, but in an emotional way, by torrents of energy that act like sensations that seem to carry them through this destiny that they don’t know how to control it, but they make an effort against it. That’s why Cancer people are so controlling, but when it comes to questions about control, they can’t answer about the reasons of their attitudes. Just like an instinctive force, stronger than themselves, that take them to protect their families and group of enemies and adversities that never are clear or obvious. The people of Cancer unknowingly become the mirror of their historical moment, and usually end up serving the purpose of defending traditions.
