Os Correios colocam em circulação, no dia 04 de outubro de 2016, dois selos postais para celebrar o Natal 2016, focalizando, em suas artes, o Anjo Gabriel e o Presépio.
Sobre os Selos
Anjo Gabriel
O selo apresenta a imagem estilizada do Arcanjo Gabriel, em posição de reverência, como se estivesse diante do Trono de Deus, trazendo à mão uma sagrada mensagem. Como na iconografia comum, sua silhueta apresenta asas de ave e um halo sobre a cabeça. Foi utilizada a técnica de hot-stamping dourada no desenho, representando o forte brilho que emana de seu corpo, contrastando com o tom de azul intenso, ao fundo, representando o céu, salpicado de estrelas. A imagem do Anjo focada no selo é de autoria de Biaggio Mazzeo, criador do Bloco emitido em 29 de setembro de 1973, em homenagem ao Movimento Gabrielista no Brasil.
Presépio
O selo que focaliza o Presépio foi concebido a partir dos significados do Nascimento de Jesus Cristo e da simplicidade em que esse cristão ocorreu. O cenário remete a um ambiente marcado pela nobreza que emana da estrela luminosa localizada ao centro do telhado da habitação estilizada, dentro da qual vê-se José, segurando o cajado, e Maria, ajoelhada, contemplando o Menino recém-nascido, deitado na manjedoura. O fundo azul, salpicado de estrelas, reporta-nos ao mesmo céu visualizado no selo do Arcanjo Gabriel, com o objetivo de associar os fundamentos da Anunciação ao cenário em que Jesus nasceu.

Anjo Gabriel
The stamp features a stylized image of the Archangel Gabriel, in a position of reverence, as if he were before the throne of God, bringing a sacred message. As in common iconography, its silhouette presents wings of bird and a halo over hishead. We used the technique of hotstamping gold design, representing the strong glow that emanates from his body, contrasting with the intense shade of blue in the background, representing the sky dotted with stars. The image of the Angel focused in the stamp is by Biagio Mazzeo, creator of the issued block on September 29th 1973 in honor of the Gabrielista Movement in Brazil. We used the technique of computer graphics.
Nativity Scene
The stamp that focuses on the Nativity Scene was designed from the meanings of the Birth of Jesus Christ and the simplicity in which this Christian event occurred. The scene reminds an environment marked by the nobility emanated from the bright star located centralized on the roof of the stylized cabin within it's possible to note Joseph, holding the staff, and Mary kneeling, contemplanting thenewborn baby lying in the manger. The blue background spotted with stars, shows us the same sky displayed on the Archangel Gabriel stamp, in order to associate the fundamentals of the Annunciation to the scene in which Jesus was born. We used the technique of computer graphics.

Anjos, mensageiros da paz
São Gabriel – o mensageiro de Deus
A palavra "anjo" vem do grego ággelos e do latin angelus, que significa mensageiro ou enviado de Deus. O termo "anjos" também é usado para seres celestiais pertencentes ao ambiente de Deus, louvando-O e realizando a sua vontade (Is 6,1-7; Salmo 148,2). Os anjos e o Arcanjo Gabriel são personagens destacados nos autos de Natal. O vocábulo hebraico Gabriel significa "homem de Deus" (heb. Geber = "varão" e El - forma abreviada de Elohim = "Deus"). Este Arcanjo é citado várias vezes na Bíblia Sagrada. O homem, desde sua estada no paraíso, conhecia a existência dos anjos, fato evidenciado em muitas religiões antigas. Anjos são mencionados no Budismo, Hinduismo e no Islamismo. No Cristianismo e no Judaismo, os anjos são personagens citados na Bíblia, evocados em muitos livros, onde são personagens que desempenham diferentes funções.
No Antigo Testamento os anjos fazem uma ponte entre os homens e Deus (Zacarias 2,5-9) e revelam a chegada do Salvador em várias passagens, como no Livro do Profeta Daniel, no qual anunciou a vinda do Redentor. Disse assim o profeta: “Apareceu Gabriel da parte de Deus e me falou: dentro de setenta semanas de anos (ou seja 490 anos) aparecerá o Santo dos Santos” (Dn 9, 20-27).
No Novo Testamento os anjos têm o privilégio de anunciar a vinda de Jesus Cristo (Lc 1, 26-33), o seu nascimento (Lc 2,10-11) e a sua ressurreição (Mateus 28,1-8).
O anjo Gabriel surge na narrativa de Lucas, que descreve os eventos da Natividade. Ao Arcanjo Gabriel foi confiada a missão de anunciar a encarnação do Filho de Deus. Por isso, esse Arcanjo é muito venerado desde a antiguidade. Quando apareceu a Zacarias anunciando-lhe que ia ter por filho João Batista, assim apresentou-se: “Eu sou Gabriel, o que está na presença de Deus” (Luc. 1, 11-20). Na Anunciação à Virgem Maria, Gabriel aparece como enviado pelo Senhor. É o anunciador do nascimento de Jesus Cristo (Lc 1, 26-38): “Foi enviado por Deus o anjo Gabriel a uma cidade da Galileia, a uma virgem chamada Maria, e, chegando junto a ela, disse-lhe: ‘Salve Maria, cheia de graça, o Senhor está contigo’. Ela ficou confusa, mas disse-lhe o anjo: ‘Não tenhas medo, Maria, porque estais na graça do Senhor. Conceberás um filho a quem porás o nome de Jesus. Ele será filho do Altíssimo e o seu Reino não terá fim”. Outro aviso de Gabriel é dado a José, marido de Maria, a quem o Senhor confiou a Sagrada Família. Ele é alertado com a chamada de um anjo, que lhe apareceu em sonho, conforme citado em Mt 1, 18-21: “... , eis que o anjo do Senhor apareceu-lhe em sonho, dizendo: José, filho de Davi, não temas receber Maria, tua esposa, pois o que nela foi gerado é do Espírito Santo. E ela dará à luz um filho, e lhe porás o nome de Jesus, porque ele salvará o seu povo dos seus pecados”. O aviso do nascimento do Menino Jesus aos pastores é um episódio da Natividade, descrito nos versículos 8-20 do segundo capítulo do Evangelho de Lucas. “E, de repente, apareceu o anjo dizendo:” ... vos trago novas de grande alegria que o será para todo o povo: hoje, na cidade de Davi, vos nasceu o Salvador, que é Cristo, o Senhor” (Lc 2,10-11). Depois de anunciado o nascimento de Jesus Cristo, a Bíblia registra que uma multidão dos exércitos celestiais apareceu no céu louvando a Deus. A boa notícia para a humanidade, é acompanhada por outra: “...que a paz esteja sobre a Terra”. "Glória a Deus nas maiores alturas, e paz na terra aos homens de boa vontade (Lucas 2, 14)". Em todas as narrativas da Natividade, os anjos tiveram participação ativa no nascimento do Menino Deus, fato que contribui para o aprofundamento de nossa fé neste mistério! Nesta emissão natalina, os Correios destacam a figura do Arcanjo Gabriel, trazendo-o para o nosso tempo, anunciando a todos novos horizontes, com caminhos marcados pela esperança e pela paz. Por sua função de Mensageiro de Deus, os Correios decidiram por aclamar o Anjo Gabriel como o seu Padroeiro, em vista de sua missão de “fornecer soluções acessíveis e confiáveis para conectar pessoas, instituições e negócios, no Brasil e no mundo”. St. Gabriel-the Messenger of God
The word "angel" comes from the Greek ággelos and the Latin angelus, meaning messenger or sent from God. The term "angels" is also used for celestial beings belonging to God, praising him and performing his will (Is 6.1 -7; Psalm 148.2). The angels and Archangel Gabriel are characters featured in the records of Christmas. The Hebrew word Gabriel means "man of God" (heb. Geber = "pole" and El - short form of Elohim = "God"). This Archangel is quoted several times in the Holy Bible. The man, since his stay in paradise, knew the existence of angels, a fact evidenced in many ancient religions. Angels are mentioned in Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. In Christianity and Judaism, the angels are mentioned in the Bible characters, evoked in many books, where they are characters that perform different functions.
In the old testament angels make a bridge between men and God (Zacharias 2,5-9) and the arrival of the Savior in several passages, as in the book of the Prophet Daniel, which announced the coming of the Redeemer. So the Prophet said: "Gabriel from God Appeared and told me: within 70 weeks of years (490 years) appears the Holy of Holies" (Dn 9, 20-27).
In the New Testament the angels have the privilege to announce the coming of Jesus Christ (Lk 1, 26-33), birth (Lk -11 2.10) and his resurrection (Matthew -8 28.1). The Angel Gabriel appears in the narrative of Luke, which describes the events of the Nativity. The Archangel Gabriel was entrusted the mission to announce the incarnation of the son of God.
So, this Archangel is much revered since antiquity. When it appeared the Zechariah announcing that I was going to have him for a son John the Baptist, so introduced himself: "I am Gabriel, who is in the presence of God" (Luc. 1, 11-20). In the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary, Gabriel appears as sent by the Lord. He is the herald of the birth of Jesus Christ (Lk 1, 26-38): ... "God sent the Angel Gabriel to a city of Galilee, to a Virgin named Mary, and, coming next to her, I told her: ' Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you '. She was confused, but the angel said to him: 'Don't be afraid, Mary, because you are in the grace of the Lord. You will conceive a son who shall be given the name Jesus. He is son of the highest and his Kingdom will have no end ". Another warning of Gabriel is given to José, husband of Mary, to whom the Lord has entrusted the Sagrada Familia. He is warned by an angel which appeared to him in a dream, as quoted in Mt 1, 18-21: "..., behold, the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, fear not to take Mary your wife, for which it was generated and is the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a son, and you shall give him the name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins ". The announcement of the birth of Baby Jesus to the shepherds is an episode of the Nativity, described in verses 8-20 in the second chapter of the Gospel of Luke. "And suddenly the Angel saying : "... I bring you tidings of great joy that will be for all the people: today, in the city of David, was born the Savior, who is Christ the Lord" (Lk 2, 10-11). After the announcement of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Bible records that a multitude of the heavenly armies appeared in heaven praising God. The good news for humanity, is accompanied by another: "peace be upon the Earth". " “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2, 14)". In all the stories of the Nativity, the angels had played an active role in the birth of the God Boy, a fact that contributes to the deepening of our faith in this mystery! This Christmas issue highlights the character of the Archangel Gabriel, bringing it to our time, announcing all new horizons, with paths marked by hope and peace.
